WA Angels 10U-Davis wins Smashing Apples Tournament!

Congrats to the WA Angels 10U-Davis team for winning the tournament in Selah this last weekend (September 18-19). Below is a recap of the last two games:

 

SEMI-FINAL GAME RECAP

WA Angels Davis 10U Clinches Lead in the fifth inning to Defeat Diamond Cats:

WA Angels Davis 10U took the lead late and defeated Diamond Cats 8-5 on Sunday.  The game was tied at four with WA Angels Davis 10U batting in the top of the fifth when Vida D singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Diamond Cats opened up scoring in the first inning when an error scored one run for Diamond Cats.

Vida got the start for WA Angels Davis 10U. The hurler went five innings, allowing five runs on two hits and striking out 11.

Player was in the circle for Diamond Cats. The hurler surrendered eight runs on five hits over four and third innings, striking out nine.

Kendle Q, Shaila H, Vida, Victoria D, and Charly W each collected one hit to lead WA Angels Davis 10U.  WA Angels Davis 10U tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Vida led the way with two.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

WA Angels Davis 10U Clinches Lead in Third Inning for Victory Over Bulldogs Fall Ball 10U:

WA Angels Davis 10U took the lead late in the game in an 11-1 victory over Bulldogs Fall Ball 10U on Sunday.  The game was tied at one with WA Angels Davis 10U batting in the bottom of the third when Peyton H tripled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

WA Angels Davis 10U opened up scoring in the first inning.  Shaila H drove in one when Shaila doubled.

In the top of the second inning, Bulldogs Fall Ball 10U tied things up at one when Miah W singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

WA Angels Davis 10U scored five runs in the fourth inning.  WA Angels Davis 10U's big inning was driven by singles by Shaila and Kendle Q, a triple by Emersyn F, and by Vida D.

Vida was in the pitcher's circle for WA Angels Davis 10U. The hurler allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out 11 and walking zero.

Both 18 and 16 Gold Teams Receive Berths to PGF Nationals

After exemplary performances at this year's PGF Portland Qaulifier Tournament held June 21-23, both Washington Angels 18 and 16 Gold-Benson teams were offered and accepted berths to the 2019 PGF Nationals held July 19-27 in Huntington Beach CA.

Angels Teams Win both Gold and Silver Championships in the 16U/18U Division

It was a Great Weekend to be a Washington Angels!

The Washington Angels 18A-Kinsey team got the win over Ellensburg Synergy 6-3 in the Gold Division Championship of the 2019 Tormaschy Memorial Invite held May 31-June 2, 2019.

Angels 18A-Kinsey got things started in the second inning when Annie Polster singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. The Angels notched three runs in the fifth inning. Polster and Caris Meagher each drove in runs during the inning. Emily Larson got the start and lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out seven during the game. Harley Raymond and Polster each collected multiple hits to lead the Angels to victory in the Gold Division Championship Game.

 

In addition, the Washington Angels 16A Hogan  team ran off with the lead late in the Tormaschy Silver Division Championship game with a 7-6 victory over Purple Rain.

Kylie Parsons got the win for the Angels as she went ten innings, only allowing three runs on 14 hits and striking out eight.  The 16A Hogan team collected 12 hits on the day. Makenzie Bailey, Chloe Grandeen, Dunham, Paija Rodriguez, and Alexis Ames each managed multiple hits  to lead the Angels to victory in the Silver Division Championship Game..
